Auckland Transport (AT) City Centre Parking - Request for Feedback

At Independent Living, we know how vital both public and private transport is to ensure people can visit our city, shop, play and stay. Road works and parking are real frustrations - so AT want's to hear from you!

Auckland Transport (AT) is developing a parking management plan for the City Centre and would like to hear from you!

Our city centre is transforming. The City Rail Link is set to open next year and will transform the way people travel to and around our city centre. With all the changes, AT is looking at how to make the best use of our kerbside spaces. They need to accommodate our diverse community needs, like deliveries, tradespeople, pedestrians, motorists, buses and taxis.

AT have talked to a range of key groups to find out what changes they’d like to see in the city centre. Stakeholders have helped to identify issues and come up with some proposals to fix them. Most of the short-term proposals are low cost, can be implemented quickly, and AT are keen to get on with them.

First, AT want to hear your thoughts:
•         are the issues and proposed responses right?
•         what would you do differently?

Public consultation is open from Wednesday 26 February - Sunday 30 March 2025. Please click here for further information: https://at.govt.nz/R2MCC

AT will use your feedback to develop a 10-year plan called Room to Move in the City Centre. It’s an action plan that covers kerbside spaces and council-owned off-street parking areas. They’ll update it regularly to meet our city’s changing needs.
