Here at Independent Living, we are committed to making daily life easier for disabled people and those living with impairments, by providing the disability equipment NZ can rely on. A not-for-profit organisation, we are your friendly community experts on all things related to disability and helping you to maintain your independence through our disability aids shop. We work with you or your family to understand your situation, concentrating on what your abilities are. We then find solutions for the areas that you need assistance with. Many of us have experienced disability ourselves, so we understand what someone needs to make the most of their current situation. Independent Living provides Disability Information & Advisory Services

Independent Living staff are trained to provide information and to help you access services if you have a disability or mobility impairment. The Disability Support section of our website provides information and links to a range of services including accessing financial support, equipment, transport, employment and education. We also have a link to specialist Support Service organisations supporting disabled or older people.  If you are new to disability – start here.
