Discrimination at Work

Discrimination at Work

It is unlawful to discriminate against people in the workplace for a number of reasons.  Having a disability or impairment is one of them, along with things like age, gender, religious or political beliefs, ethnicity etc.

Acts of discrimination can include different terms of employment or work conditions from others with similar qualifications, experience, or skills, treating employees differently although they are doing the same kind of work or creating unfavourable work conditions in order to make a person resign.  All people are protected from unlawful discrimination in their employment.   including those with a disability or impairment.

The Employment New Zealand website tells you what to do if you experience discrimination in the workplace.
